October’s Cultured craftsman gathering will be held at Lost Peninsula, the home of Bill Tabbert and his Volmer VJ-22. The focus of this gathering will be on the Oratex Fabric that Bill used while recovering his Volmer. “Oratex is a revolutionary covering system that requires no coatings whatsoever and features strong, easy to use glue.” This process offers tremendous time savings and weight savings and can be painted if the builder so chooses. Bill completed and flew his Volmer project this summer. This project required a substantial rebuild of the aircraft as it had received some major damage at the hands of its previous owner. Since completing the rebuild, Bill has been piling the flight hours on and wasted no time bringing it to the water and taking advantage of all that the area has to offer for amphibious aircraft! We will take a look at Bill’s completed Volmer and work hands on with samples of the Oratex material, with so me “creative” testing. You won’t want to miss this gathering!

Hope to see you all there.

Pizza and beverages will be available
